Come join Payson Parks and Recreation for an unforgettable 4th of July Celebration in Arizona’s hometown!  Experience the magic of fireworks, live music, and delicious food from vendors on site. With games and water activities throughout the day, there will be endless fun for everyone. Mark your calendars, bring your family and friends, and let’s make this Independence Day one to remember! See you there!

Who is ready for some pie?! Our Pie Eating Contest is a staple to any hometown 4th of July Celebration! Check the registration page to determine which age group you will participate in!

The contest will start at 6pm on stage. Register below! Limited spots available!

Helpful Information & Event Rules

Parking Map

There will be limited parking available at Green Valley Park on July 4th. Please plan accordingly by accessing THIS MAP. As a reminder, it is in violation of ARS Code 28-873 to block private driveways. We appreciate you abiding by “NO PARKING” signs and staff requests.

Shuttle Service

There will be a shuttle service to Green Valley Park from Payson High School Parking Lots beginning at 12:00 pm until the end of the event (roughly 10 pm). Please plan accordingly, especially if you are in need of Handicap-Accessible Parking. ADA Drop-off Zone (See Parking Map)

NO CONSUMER FIREWORKS are ALLOWED

There are absolutely NO CONSUMER FIREWORKS allowed. This includes handheld sparklers and novelties. There will be no exceptions. Please help us keep our park beautiful and other spectators safe. We thank you for your understanding and adherence to our event rules.

No Alcohol

There will be no alcohol allowed at Green Valley Park. This rule is strictly enforced by staff and Law Enforcement. Violators may be asked to leave the Park and/or face charges.

§ 93.12 Parks and Natural Areas Criminal Conduct

No Ground Stakes

We encourage you to bring shade if desired, however, weighing down canopies is mandatory. (If you do not have your canopy properly weighed down, you will be asked to take it down for safety reasons).

Staking is not allowed in the park. If you bring a canopy, please be prepared to weigh it down with sand or another weight.

§93.04 Usage Rules (G)

No Charcoal Grills

Charcoal Grills are not allowed on Town Property.

Dogs Are Allowed However…

Dogs are allowed within the park as long as they are LEASHED and not causing a disturbance for other specatators. 

Please note: We strongly discourage your furry friends from attending the Fireworks. The noise is at a level that is considerably higher than it is for humans, which can cause anxiety for your pet or damage to their eardrums.

Free Event

This event is always free for the public, so bring your chairs and a blanket to enjoy an afternoon full of activities and music leading up to the main event- our spectacular firework show!

Will there be food?

Yes! Vendors will be on-site beginning at 12 pm.

Will there be fireworks?

The fireworks portion of the 4th of July weekend is currently ON. Updates to the event of any kind will be made here on the official site as well as on Facebook at @PaysonParkandRec

Where do I park?

What should we bring?

To enjoy this event to it’s fullest, be sure to bring sunscreen, plenty of water, chairs or blankets, towels for water activities, and SHADE! Many Locals and Visitors know that the best way to do the 4th of July in Payson is with a shade canopy.

Weighing down canopies is mandatory. (If you do not have your canopy properly weighed down, you will be asked to take it down for safety reasons). Staking is not allowed in the park. If you bring a canopy, please be prepared to weigh it down with sand or another weight. Stakes cannot be used.

PUBLIC NOTICES

  1. Dogs are welcome as long as they are mild-mannered. Town ordinances require that they must be leashed at all times.
  2. Public consumption of alcohol is prohibited in the park and at all listed events. § 93.12 Parks and Natural Areas Criminal Conduct (B(1)).
  3. Staking is not allowed in the park. If you bring a canopy, please be prepared to weigh it down with sand or another weight. Stakes cannot be used. § 93.04 Usage Rules (G)
