Adventure Payson
Geronimo Trailhead - The Geronimo Trailhead can be accessed from Payson by taking the Houston Mesa Road for 10 miles, then left on the Fire Control Road for 4.2 miles and then turn right on Forest Road 440 for 2 miles to the well signed trailhead. It can also be accessed by heading north from Payson on state route 87 for 12 miles, then turn right on the Fire Control Road for 5.5 miles, then turn left on Forest Road 440 for 2 miles to the well signed trailhead. This trailhead has limited parking. Heading west on the Highline from the trailhead takes you across Webber creek and climbs into dense ponderosa forests, and beautiful bench cut trail all along the base of the Mogollon Rim.
Pine Trailhead - The Pine Trailhead is the western terminus of the Highline Trail, and can be accessed by driving 14 miles north of Payson on State Route 87, and turning right into the well marked trailhead. The Pine Trailhead has ample paved parking, vault toilets, a short ADA trail loop, and connects to the Pine/Strawberry Loop.
