Highline Trail (260)

260 Trailhead - Located 25 miles east of Payson along Highway 260, the 260 Trailhead is the eastern starting point of the Highline Trail.  The trailhead has a dirt parking lot and vault toilet.  The Military Sinkhole Trail connects to the Highline just west of the trailhead.  The first three miles of the Highline heading west from the trailhead are a mix of punchy climbs and short downhill sections.  After the intersection of the Drew Trail, the Highline drops significantly into the Christopher Creek drainage. 

See Canyon Trailhead - The See Canyon Trailhead is accessible by driving east from Payson on Highway 260 to Christopher Creek, and then taking Forest Road 284 (across from the Landmark at the Creek Restaurant) for 3 miles to the trailhead where there is dirt parking and a vault toilet. The See Canyon Trailhead is a great spot for hiking, mountain biking, and fishing as Christopher Creek runs right across the trail.  The See Canyon Hiking Trail ascends to the top of the rim over three miles of steep climbing.  Heading west on the Highline from the See Canyon Trailhead, hikers and riders will enjoy amazing views, red rock sections, and ponderosa pines.
